Wash your new clothes before you wear ‘em?
Science sez your new clothes are dirty.
So, ABC News recently ran a story warning people to watch out when they buy new clothes. I’m not going to get into the specifics on what that petrie dish discovered, but the moral of the story is that people wear clothes, return it and they’re put right back on the shelf. And people are dirty. Even the regular ones who just try on things in the store.
What I’m wondering is:
Do people really wash their clothes before wearing it? Do you?
I know I don’t, but I guess I’m not really concerned about the germs.
And, will this push paranoid Americans to turn to more online shopping to escape?
For me, half the fun in buying new clothes is wearing it right away. I know I don’t want to wait for the tumble dry to do its work before I get to strut my stuff.
When I get something new I want to play with it right away!
This is what irks me about online shopping. Sure its fun clicking in the moment, and you can buy weird sweaters from Korea that you can’t buy locally, but you miss that instant gratification. Maybe this is why I don’t think I’ll ever wash my sweater/jacket/shirt before I take it for it’s first spin.
Am I doin’ it wrong?
Will you start pre-washing now?

I don’t wash new clothes. Eh, I’m trying to be concerned, but it seems like a lot of work…
And thanks for linking the Assassin’s Creed hoodie! Am I x-small or small? Stupid sizing chart.
